The Company

Helty is an Italian company that develops controlled mechanical ventilation systems to improve indoor air quality in living spaces.

It targets an audience focused on comfort, health, and aesthetics, offering devices that integrate discreetly and efficiently into the home environment.

To enhance its concealed VMC product line, Helty chose to adopt a 3D configurator for home ventilation systems, capable of showcasing the product’s strength: making clean air a natural part of the home, combined with functional and minimal design.

 

The Challenge

Helty wanted to present Flow40, a fully wall-integrated device, in a clear and engaging way, both on the website and in trade show contexts.

The main challenge was communicating a product designed to be invisible: how to clearly show its function, airflow path, and customization options in an intuitive way?

The target audience needed a direct experience that would allow them to understand how the device is installed, how it works, and how it adapts to the home environment.

The solution

We have designed a 3D configurator and an interactive visualizer capable of bringing Flow40 into the home virtually.

Through an ideal 3D space, a wall with a window, visible both from inside a room and from the outside, the user can configure the product, explore how it works, and understand its seamless integration.

  • The interface, developed for both desktop and mobile, allows users to customize position, air outlet, cover color, external faceplate, and even wall color, enabling full personalization of every detail.
  • The visualizer also simulates the entire air cycle, illustrating the exchange between indoor and outdoor environments as well as the filtration and pre-heating process.
  • Using smartphone AR mode, users can place Flow40 on their actual wall and evaluate its appearance within their real living space.

Beyond configuration, the 3D experience includes animated guides for maintenance and installation, complete with step-by-step instructions and interactive 3D simulations.

Features

Thanks to a 3D animation, the user can observe the air’s path within the system: how it is extracted from the room, filtered, heated, and then reintroduced.

With a simple click, the product can be placed in real time within the user’s actual environment via the smartphone camera. This helps understand its footprint and optimal positioning.

An interactive module shows how to perform routine maintenance operations, such as replacing filters, through animated 3D steps, enabling the user to be self-sufficient after purchase.

It is possible to select the wall thickness and launch an animated installation guide that shows the entire process, from drilling to final assembly. It is also possible to download the technical PDF manual.

At the end of the process, the user can submit their customized configuration to Helty via a dedicated form, receiving technical and commercial support to purchase the product exactly as desired.
