In a market where customization and innovation are key, Dnd faced the need to present its new lock, Vertical, in an effective and engaging way. Vertical is not just a product, but a design element that must integrate seamlessly with the various handles in the Dnd catalog, allowing users to coordinate finishes and styles in a harmonious and personalized way.
The challenge was therefore twofold: to showcase the versatility and elegance of Vertical, and to enable customers to explore the different possible combinations in an intuitive and detailed manner.
The Solution
A 3D configurator and a landing page designed to present the new lock while highlighting the potential and possibilities of Vertical.
To address this challenge, Dnd implemented a 3D configurator and a dedicated landing page for Vertical, using these tools to highlight the product’s customization and design potential. The configurator allows users to choose from four main variables: Dnd handle model, type of finish, lock type, and door material. This flexibility enables customers to visualize and combine different options, making it easier to select the solution that best fits their needs.
The 3D animation adds an extra layer of immersion and understanding, allowing users to view their configurations in motion and from different angles, emphasizing the quality and design of the materials.
The landing page, showcased at prestigious events such as the Salone del Mobile and BAU Munich, serves not only as a display for Vertical but also as an interactive touchpoint where visitors can directly experience the product’s versatility and elegance. It acts as the main access point to the 3D configurator, offering users an intuitive and engaging overview of the product. The page is designed to be both visually appealing and functional, guiding visitors toward the configuration experience.

One of the key features of the designed and developed landing page is the exploded product view, which allows users to see the details of the lock’s individual components. This is essential for highlighting the build quality and technical details that distinguish Dnd’s product, enabling customers to appreciate its complexity and refinement.
The configurator integrates animations of the lock’s technical and internal components, providing a dynamic and detailed representation of how they function. These animations help users better understand the product and its installation, adding an extra level of interaction and engagement.
A specific exploded view feature highlights the lock’s internal adapter, a crucial element for understanding Vertical’s versatility and technological innovation. This visualization makes it easier to see how the lock adapts to different contexts and installation requirements.
The configurator is also available in an offline mode, installed on trade show kiosks such as the one at BAU Munich 2023. This solution allows the configurator to be used even without an internet connection, ensuring maximum accessibility during events and exhibitions.
The configurator provides a complete 3D environment in which the product can be placed within a virtual setting. This includes the visualization of complementary elements such as the door, even though it is not a product sold by Dnd, in order to showcase the lock’s potential applications in realistic contexts.
The configurator is integrated with the company’s B2B platform, enabling seamless management of customer data and created configurations. CRM workflows are enhanced through integration with CRMinCloud and MailUp, tools that support digital marketing and enable effective, personalized communication with clients.
